Impact Fund Denmark named DFI of the year

Impact Fund Denmark has been named DFI of the Year by the IJGlobal Awards.

The jury highlighted how Impact Fund Denmark combines EU-backed guarantees with its own capital, expertise and active ownership to reduce risk, mobilise private investors and make projects investable in markets and sectors that would otherwise remain out of reach for commercial capital.

This recognition underscores the power of partnerships. EU guarantees allow us to take calculated risks in markets where private capital would otherwise stay away. By sharing risk with the European Union, we can mobilise significantly more private investment and deliver real, lasting impact where it is needed most.

Examples of this approach include the Danish SDG Investment Fund II, Africa GreenCo and forestry investments in South America, where guarantee-backed and blended finance structures have helped turn perceived risk into attractive investment opportunities with strong development and climate impact.

The recognition follows Impact Fund Denmark’s strongest investment year to date. In 2025, the fund signed 25 new investments worth DKK 5.1 billion (USD 780 million), marking the highest annual investment volume in its history.

The investments were made across the world, with around 40 per cent going to Asia, 35 per cent to Africa, 24 per cent to Latin America and 1 per cent to Ukraine.
