Impact Fund Denmark strengthens Denmark's global role by investing in private companies within energy, health, food, and finance, driving sustainable growth and creating pathways to new markets.

As Denmark’s development finance institution, we create impact by investing in private sector companies within energy, health, food, and finance. While we prioritise partnerships with Danish companies, our main goal is to drive sustainable growth and lasting impact.

Danish-African commercial partnerships

New Africa Facility

Supporting sustainable development in Africa through Danish-African partnerships is a core focus for us.

Therefore, Impact Fund Denmark and the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs have launched the Africa Facility in 2025 – a facility designed to build new, Danish-African commercial partnerships, while opening new markets for Danish businesses.

Guided by the Danish Foreign Ministry, our targets ensure:

50% investments in Africa
50% investments related to climate
30% are directed toward poor and fragile countries

Investment criteria

All investments are screened for strong alignment with best practice ESG standards, socio-economic and environmental impact, and the robustness of the business plan, including its likelihood of delivering acceptable risk-adjusted returns. In addition, each investment is structured to enable a responsible exit by Impact Fund Denmark – one that supports long-term development outcomes and lasting impact.
