IØ (the Investment Fund for Central and Eastern Europe), established by the Danish government in 1989, aimed to promote economic cooperation between Denmark and Eastern European countries, benefiting both the broader East–West relationship and the Danish business community. IØ was officially phased out in 2012, with all new investments discontinued from that year onward.
