Latin American Agribusiness Development Corp. (LAAD) supports smallholder farmers and agribusinesses across Latin America and the Caribbean with financing for climate-smart agriculture. The loan from Impact Fund Denmark is used to expand LAAD’s green lending activities and support more sustainable agricultural production. LAAD finances small and medium-sized agribusinesses in more than 17 countries across the region.
Climate change is making it increasingly difficult for farmers to maintain and expand production, while agriculture faces growing pressure to adopt more sustainable practices. Access to finance is essential for helping farmers invest in climate-smart solutions and strengthen their resilience.
The entire loan is allocated to LAAD’s green lending portfolio, enabling more agricultural businesses to adopt sustainable farming methods. In addition to supporting the green transition, the investment will help create jobs, strengthen food security and improve access to finance for small and medium-sized enterprises across rural communities.
