Years of underinvestment and war-related damage have left many communities in Ukraine’s Mykolaiv region struggling with outdated and unreliable infrastructure. Limited access to clean water, insufficient wastewater treatment, and disrupted public services continue to affect daily life for thousands of residents.
The programme supports the rehabilitation of critical municipal infrastructure across the region, including water supply systems, wastewater treatment facilities, and public hospitals and schools. By combining reconstruction with energy-efficient and modern solutions, the investments help municipalities improve service delivery, strengthen resilience, and build infrastructure that can withstand future challenges.
The projects are expected to improve access to safe drinking water, reduce environmental pollution from untreated wastewater, and enhance the reliability of healthcare, education, and other municipal services. At the same time, they contribute to Ukraine’s long-term green and sustainable recovery.
