Why it matters

Guarantees mobilising capital to support sustainable development are vital to reach the SDGs and close finance gaps.

Development Guarantees (DG) was launched in 2022 in partnership with the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

DG mobilises capital for high-impact investments by underwriting credit risk and incentivising lending where market failures create finance gaps, focusing on Africa, climate finance, and poor and fragile countries.
