Impact Fund Denmark is investing USD 4 million (DKK 26 million) in Acumen Latin America Early Growth Fund II (ALEG II), a fund that supports early-stage companies with high impact-potential with a focus on energy, financial, and agricultural solutions. Managed by ALIVE Ventures, one of the region’s leading impact-focused fund managers, the fund provides patient, long-term capital to companies delivering essential products and services, helping build resilient economies and improve income opportunities for low-income communities.
The investment marks the first fund commitment by Impact Fund Denmark’s Venture Capital team, underlining an ambition to reach a broader set of high impact, high growth companies and to scale impact further. The Venture Capital facility invests in early-stage companies and venture funds, focusing on smaller businesses with high potential for growth and impact.
Creating opportunities through access and inclusion
Early-stage companies in Latin America, especially those focused on low-income communities, face difficulties in obtaining financing. Without access to patient capital, many promising businesses struggle to scale their solutions, leaving essential products and services such as affordable financial services, clean energy and agricultural productivity tools out of reach for many households and small businesses.
ALEG II invests in scalable early-stage companies that address these challenges directly. With patient, longterm capital, the fund enables businesses to strengthen their operations, reach more people and expand their footprint across underserved communities. This leads to more jobs, higher incomes and improved access to essential services for low income households.
The fund applies a strong gender and climate focus, ensuring that a significant share of its investments benefit women and strengthen climate resilience in a region increasingly exposed to climaterelated risks.
Impact is at the core of ALEG II’s investment strategy. By providing long-term capital to scalable businesses, the fund enables them to grow, create jobs and increase income opportunities for low-income communities.
The investment will enable more early-stage companies to grow and deliver essential services to underserved communities – essential to support Impact Fund Denmark’s ambition to contribute to just and inclusive economies.
