Impact Fund Denmark is opening a new office in Lagos, Nigeria, to strengthen the investment fund’s presence in West Africa

The Lagos office, in Africa’s second-largest city, will serve as the fund’s eyes and ears in the region and bring Impact Fund Denmark closer to investment opportunities, partners and local markets.
In connection with the opening, Impact Fund Denmark has hired four new employees with investment responsibility and has also relocated a colleague from Accra to Lagos.

The local team will identify investments that deliver measurable impact while also being sound businesses with competitive returns in a market with enormous growth potential.

Nigeria has around 235 million inhabitants, a growing middle class, and significant potential for investments that can drive growth, create jobs and support sustainable solutions.

Towards 2050, the population is expected to approach 400 million, with a larger share living in cities. This will require massive investments in power grids, mobility, housing, water and health. Nigeria also has an ambition to be climate-neutral by 2060.

The new employees will work across Impact Fund Denmark’s investment tracks: green energy, financial services, sustainable food systems, and healthcare and public infrastructure. With a permanent team on the ground, the fund strengthens its ability to spot opportunities early, build partnerships and follow investments closely.

Nigeria is one of the most important markets in Africa. We are opening an office in Lagos to get closer to investment opportunities that promote the green transition and support just and inclusive societies. Local presence is essential if we are to invest wisely and deliver real impact.

Lars Bo Bertram, CEO of Impact Fund Denmark

With the Lagos office, Impact Fund Denmark is further expanding its presence in Africa. The fund already has an office in Nairobi, Kenya and is in the process of opening an office in Johannesburg, South Africa.
